Is Memohop free?
You can import your exports and preview your entire timeline for free, and process & publish up to 100 memories. To move everything, get the Lifetime license for a one-time $9.99 — no subscription.
Are my memories uploaded anywhere?
No. Memohop does all the work on your computer. When you publish, files go straight from your computer to Apple Photos (and iCloud, if you use it) or to your own Google Photos account. They never pass through our servers.
How do I get my Snapchat Memories export?
In Snapchat, go to Settings → Privacy Controls → My Data, include your Memories and submit the request. Snapchat emails you when your ZIP files are ready. Our step-by-step guide has all the details.
Will my photos show the right date and place?
Yes. Memohop reads the original date, time and location from your export and writes them into each photo’s EXIF data and each video’s QuickTime metadata. Apple Photos and Google Photos then put them on the right day, and on the map.
Can I keep captions, stickers and drawings?
Yes. Memohop burns the overlays back onto your photos and videos, exactly as you saved them. You can switch it off for any memory if you’d rather keep the clean original.
What about videos split into 10-second clips?
Memohop detects the clips that belong together and rejoins them into a single video.
My export only has links, not photos. Does that work?
Yes. If the media isn’t inside the ZIP, Memohop downloads each memory from the links in your export. Those links expire after a while, so it’s best to do this soon after you download your data.
How do I avoid duplicates?
Each memory gets a badge once it’s in Apple Photos or Google Photos, and the “Not yet migrated” filter shows what’s left. Memohop also detects duplicates across multiple exports.
Does Memohop work on Windows?
Yes. Memohop runs on Windows 10 and 11, and it’s free to download. On Windows it sends your memories to Google Photos, or to iCloud Photos through Apple’s iCloud for Windows app, and exports them to a folder, a ZIP or Google Drive. A Lifetime license covers Mac and Windows, on up to three computers.
Can it handle chat media too?
Yes. If your export includes photos and videos from your chats, Memohop dates, sorts and exports them as well.
Is Memohop made by Snapchat?
No. Memohop is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Snap Inc. It simply works with the data export Snapchat gives you.
When can I publish straight to Google Photos?
Apple Photos / iCloud publishing works from day one. Direct Google Photos publishing is rolling out gradually while Google reviews our access — until it reaches you, Memohop exports a ready-to-upload folder with the right dates and places inside every file, so dragging it into photos.google.com puts everything on the right day.
